Inverter Friendly Generators
Want a diesel generator that can work with a hybrid solar and battery system? Our Inverter Friendly Generators collection highlights models with documented remote-start interfaces, allowing automatic start/stop integration where the inverter and generator controls are properly matched. This can be useful in Ireland when solar production is low and stored battery energy needs support.
Three models use ATS-interface starting: the Hyundai DHY6000SE, DHY8000SELR and selectable single/three-phase DHY8000SELR-T. These need a suitable generator-side ATS module, matching interface cable and a separately supplied controller that explicitly accepts a hybrid inverter remote-start request. Mains-failure sensing alone does not provide battery SOC control. The DHY12500SE and DHY18COM-1 instead offer two-wire remote-start interfaces that may work with compatible inverter programmable dry contacts, subject to correct control ratings and configuration.
A compatible Solis hybrid model with generator-control support may offer start and stop thresholds based on battery state of charge, but its generator-control feature does not establish electrical input compatibility. Starting a generator also does not transfer your house supply. A qualified electrician must confirm phase, voltage, frequency, inverter input limits and isolation/transfer arrangements before commissioning. Here, 'Inverter Friendly' describes control integration, not inverter-generator construction or certified pure-sine-wave output. Browse Diesel Generators and Generator Accessories for related options.
