Description
The Fothermo 80L photovoltaic water heater is a compact solar hot water solution ideal for small households, apartments, mobile homes or off-grid setups. It connects directly to solar panels using MC4 plug-and-play connectors, with no inverter required, and supports approximately 2–3 standard 400–450W panels (recommended 600–1,200Wp). An integrated MPP tracker continuously optimises panel performance to maximise solar yield, and the system operates at extra-low voltage on the PV side, meaning no electrician is required for the solar connection.
The unit includes a built-in 1,500W 230V electric heating element that connects directly to a standard wall socket, providing automatic backup heating when solar input is insufficient. The 77L enamelled steel tank heats water up to 65°C and is protected by a magnesium anode, safety temperature limiter and pressure relief valve, delivering a reliable, efficient way to significantly reduce hot water electricity costs while ensuring year-round hot water availability.
