Overview

The BYD Battery Box Premium HVS+ 2.56kWh Lithium Battery is the core building block of BYD’s high-voltage HVS+ storage system, ideal for residential and light commercial projects where flexibility, safety and long service life are essential. Each 2.56 kWh module forms part of a vertical HVS+ tower, allowing you to scale usable capacity from 5.12 kWh up to 12.8 kWh per tower, and up to 38.4 kWh with three towers in parallel.

Description

Using proven Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry, the HVS+ platform is designed from cell to pack for maximum safety, with more than one million systems deployed worldwide. A round-trip efficiency of ≥95% helps maximise the usable energy from every cycle, improving system ROI for your customers. The module is rated at 102.4 V with an initial capacity of 2.56 kWh, and complete towers support up to 25 A continuous and 55 A peak (15 s) charge/discharge current, giving plenty of power headroom for modern hybrid inverters and backup operation.
For real-world installations, the HVS+ is built to handle tough conditions. The system operates from –10°C to +50°C (with automatic derating at low temperatures), is rated to IP55, and is suitable for indoor or outdoor floor-standing installation up to 3,000 m altitude. Typical applications include on-grid, on-grid with backup, and full off-grid systems, all backed by key certifications such as VDE 2510-50, IEC 62619, CE, UKCA and UN38.3.
Installers benefit from a modular, plug-together design with BYD’s patented internal plug connection, smart configuration and quick, flexible wiring. A built-in balancing optimiser and “extend anytime at any state of charge” capability make future system expansions straightforward. Intelligent management features including automatic state-of-charge (SOC) adjustment, remote diagnostics and OTA updates provide strong after-sales support options. The system is compatible with leading single- and three-phase inverters and is backed by a 10-year warranty, giving you a highly bankable storage solution for today’s advanced PV and backup projects.
